Our Mission and Vision
In providing an ecumenical Christian presence at UNC, Cooperative Christian Campus Ministry, known as "The Co-Op", strives to sustain a religious community on campus for students, faculty and staff that is safe, intellectually and theologically mature, committed to service, interested in justice and sensitive to the spiritual growth of its participants. We honor diversity of thought, practice and personhood and strive to be inclusive in spirit, open in mind and loving of heart.
What about other religions or faith traditions?
We are a cooperative ministry supported by several different churches and denominations within the Protestant Christian tradition which each have their own distinct practices and beliefs. Therefore, we do not advance one particular belief system or set of practices over another. We are open to all people who seek to explore and deepen their faith regardless of church background or religious affiliation. Concerning our perspective on various faith expressions and world religions, we really like this video and the message of the Charter for Compassion.

"How is it with your soul?"
We take the time to ask.
Justice
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."
--Martin Luther King, Jr.
Service
We are God's hands and feet in the world.
Let's get those hands and feet a little dirty.
